Nuffer, Smith, Tucker expands its award-winning team with the addition of Mark Olson as a government relations and public affairs specialist.
Olson joins the firm after eight years of experience serving as a public spokesman and staff person for elected officials at the federal, state and local levels. In his new role, he is charged with creating and implementing a strategic communications plan for elected official outreach and public awareness regarding invasive species for the California Citrus Research Board.

Prior to joining Nuffer, Smith, Tucker, Olson worked as a press secretary on Capitol Hill, and most recently as a top policy advisor to San Diego County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, San Marcos, and a master’s degree in communications from San Diego State University.
